What is Humidity?

Humidity refers to the amount of water vapor present in the air. It is a key atmospheric parameter that influences weather conditions, human comfort, and various physical processes.

Relative Humidity (RH) is the ratio of the current absolute humidity to the highest possible absolute humidity (which depends on the current air temperature), expressed as a percentage. A higher RH indicates that the air is closer to saturation, where it cannot hold more water vapor at that temperature and pressure.

Relative humidity is the most commonly used measure in weather forecasts and reports because it gives an intuitive measure of how “humid” it feels

What is the Impact of Humidity?

Humidity affects product quality, equipment functionality, crop yields, animal health, building integrity, human comfort, and so much more! Humidity can enable corrosion, mold, illness, and condensation issues if not properly regulated. Precise humidity control is essential across manufacturing, food production, agriculture, HVAC systems, and health care facilities.
