Our January product update brings AI automation, aviation-specific tools, and new APIs that transform how organizations prepare, plan, and act on weather.
Weather Intelligence, Reimagined for Action
This year, Tomorrow.io takes another step toward its long-term vision of agentic, AI-native weather intelligence. This update continues the shift from a data platform to a decision platform, helping teams visualize risk, take action faster, and automate responses across industries.
From the launch of Gale Studio to smarter monitoring and expanded APIs, this release is designed for both operators managing live conditions and developers building resilient systems on top of our intelligence.

Gale Studio is the centerpiece of this release and introduces a truly agentic interface for weather intelligence.
What’s new:
- Natural Language Dashboards: Ask Gale to create a flight delay risk dashboard, and it generates a visual layout with the right tiles, maps, and logic.
- Vertical-Aware Prompts: Aviation, government, and energy users receive suggestions and block types tailored to their operational needs.
- Instant Save and Share: Any Gale-generated Studio canvas can be saved as a dashboard, either private or shared across the organization.
How it connects to your work: Instead of building dashboards tile by tile, teams can describe what they need and let AI assemble it.
- This release also includes Gale’s Map Analysis quick action. Select Analyze Map View to receive an AI-generated summary of what is happening in the current map window.
How it connects to your work: Instead of setting up dashboards tile by tile, you can now describe what you need — and let AI do the heavy lifting.
Also includes Gale’s Map Analysis quick action: click “Analyze Map View” and get an AI-generated summary of what’s happening in your current map window.

Smarter Monitoring, Zero Setup Required
This release introduces Smart Monitoring, a new approach to frictionless alerting.
Key capabilities:
- Out-of-the-box insights: Industry-specific risk layers activate automatically when a location is selected, with no thresholds to configure
- Location-based intelligence: Smart Monitoring tiles can be added directly to dashboards or triggered from the map
- Proactive awareness: Key risks surface as users explore the platform, rather than waiting for alerts to fire
Why it matters: Teams detect risks earlier and respond faster without spending time on setup.
Aviation Blocks Library: Visualize Every Phase of Flight Risk
We’ve expanded the Aviation Blocks Library with powerful new tools for dispatchers and operations teams.
What’s included:

- Alternate Routing Assistant: Evaluate weather impacts on alternate routes directly from Gale or the map
- Airport Conditions Summary: A dedicated block surfaces METAR, TAF, forecasts, and flight categories for the next 24 hours
- Diversion Assessment Tool: Identify alternate airports within a defined radius and fuel range
Built for: Airlines, OCCs, and drone operators managing time-critical, high-risk flight operations.
Align Teams Instantly with Shared Live Map Views
Collaboration improves significantly with new Share Platform capabilities.
What’s new:
- Shareable map links: Generate a URL to an exact map view, including layers, zoom level, timeline, and side panels.
- Real-time coordination: Everyone opening the link sees the same live situational awareness.
- Same-org sharing: Access is limited to users within the same account for security.
Operational impact: Teams align in seconds during high-stakes weather events.
Productized Internal APIs: Turn Insights into Infrastructure
More of Tomorrow.io’s core capabilities are now available as productized APIs, ready to embed into external systems.
New API endpoints:
- Vector tiles and aggregative tiles: Visualize or query extreme values such as maximum wind gusts or accumulated rainfall
- On-demand route insights: Query weather impacts along any route for logistics, aviation, or maritime use cases
- Weather Events API: Access vector event polygons like SIGMETs or flood zones for external maps and risk engines
Who it’s for: Developers, partners, and internal teams embedding Tomorrow.io into their own tools and workflows.
Feed Management & Customer Overlays, Putting Your Data In Your Map
Two enhancements make it easier to bring customer-specific data directly into the platform.

New tools:
- Feed Management Block: A no-code interface for ingesting GeoJSON or CSV files such as assets, routes, or infrastructure locations
- Customer overlays: Add custom vector layers to the map with metadata display and toggle controls
- API or manual uploads: Feeds can be uploaded manually or pushed automatically via API
Why it matters: Adding operational context to weather intelligence enables faster, more precise decisions.
Earthquake Alerts: Expanding Beyond the Sky
Tomorrow.io now supports Earthquake Alerts sourced from the USGS.

Features:
- Global earthquake detection: Monitoring for magnitude 4.5 and above, as well as significant events
- Custom alert radii: Set alerts for earthquakes within 55 km or 100 km of a location
- Trusted source: Alerts are powered by official USGS data
Why it matters: Customers can plan for a broader range of environmental hazards, not just weather.
From Features to a Fully Agentic Platform
With Gale Studio, no-code integrations, and AI-powered monitoring, this release is about building a future where weather risk can be seen, understood, and acted on in real time, by humans and agents alike.
