NASA’s Commercial Satellite Data Acquisition (CSDA) Program has awarded Tomorrow.io a $3 million Evaluation Task Order to procure access to Tomorrow.io Microwave Sounder (TMS) data products and supporting materials for scientific and technical assessment.
The Award
Under the task order, the CSDA program will conduct NASA’s formal evaluation process of the TMS data to determine its suitability for long-term research and modeling activities. The award covers access to the data products and the materials required to run that assessment.
What TMS Is
Tomorrow.io Microwave Sounder is Tomorrow.io’s spaceborne microwave sounding capability, built to deliver temperature and humidity profile information from orbit. Access through the CSDA program puts that data in front of NASA evaluators under the same commercial-data pathway the agency uses to assess industry observations for research and operations.
What Comes Next
NASA will conduct the scientific and technical assessment under the Evaluation Task Order. Tomorrow.io will support that work with the data products and materials specified in the award, and will continue engaging with NASA on how commercial microwave sounding can strengthen the nation’s weather and Earth-science observing system.
